Event Description

This two-day meeting is held Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, 2024, in Arlington, Virginia. Embark on a transformative educational experience at the two-day education meeting, Advanced Regulation: Is the Game Changing?, meticulously curated and hosted by the ASWB Regulatory Education and Leadership Committee. The committee's innovative vision has given rise to an immersive event that adeptly incorporates the nuanced concept of a "game," fostering groundbreaking discussions aimed at advancing the experiences of regulators. Throughout the sessions, participants will navigate the intricacies of social work boards and colleges, deepen their understanding of regulatory frameworks, and embrace emerging trends in technology and supervision. With a central focus on cultural humility, the meeting delves into biases and societal intersections, employing tools such as "Factuality: The Game" to promote inclusivity within the regulatory sphere. Expert legal insights, panelists, facilitators, and speakers will guide attendees through a dynamic agenda, exploring topics ranging from the three entry points of social work (experience, exam, and education) to the specific issues related to board structure and limits of power. Engaging sessions, including a mock board meeting, table talks, and panel discussions, will empower participants with advanced regulatory insights and a resolute commitment to shaping and fortifying the future of social work. Join us for an unforgettable mix of education, inspiration, and a dedication to the social work profession through impactful and objective regulation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in all sessions on Friday and Saturday and preconference sessions are offered on Thursday. Registration is limited to ASWB member board members, staff, and speakers.
